Checklist steps
- Confirm the admission letter or enrolment from an authorised institution and the programme type (higher education, mobility, etc.).
- Prove sufficient financial means for living costs and, if applicable, accompanying family members.
- Arrange health insurance with adequate cover in Spain (avoid gaps that consulates reject).
- Prepare a valid passport, photos and the consulate or immigration office forms for your case.
- Gather criminal-record and medical certificates if required, with apostille/translation.
- Align dates: course start, insurance validity and the visa filing window.
- If you are already in Spain on another status, check whether you can switch to a study stay or must apply for a visa abroad.
- Plan the TIE / registration after entry and annual renewals with enrolment and academic progress.
